This current project sit on the formal site of Plaza Pantai which fronting the famous Federal Highway of Kuala Lumpur. Plaza Pantai was the brain child of Atlas Corporation Sdn Bhd which has the Light Rail Transit (LRT) passing directly into the building itself. Unfortunately the entire business ran into global financial crisis in year 1997 in which by the year 2000, Atlas Corporation is under liquidation.
The site in which Plaza Pantai sit has 3 completed towers and one end at level 6, with the rest of 2 towers unrealized. The shopping mall on the ground floor is operational together with the car-parking bay. The rest of 3 level of shopping is only 50% completed.
Way back in 1999, I was always going in and out of this development as I am the introducing more development land to then the properietor. To me seeing the project went under especially with the people that you had been working at, is really sad. I look and think of it often. Think of ways to bring it back to life, but somehow everyone that i spoke to either thought that i am crazy or pour icy cold water on me. I know the project land itself into massive and complex problem and untagling it, is no child play but I think it is not impossible.
Maybe the year has been good to me, as 2011, I manage to bring together 5 different friends from various diversified background to work on this possibility of Plaza Pantai. To confirm my earlier statement; "nothing is impossible". All of us put up our thinking cap and each contribute to various job of negotiating with whoever that is appropriate and finally, Twin Pavillion Sdn Bhd is born. Everyone from the original group is the shareholder of this project. To me it is a milestone in my career. As per today, Tower D is completed and we are looking at handling over to purchaser in year 2014.
